Seattle people:
We are looking for people to provide respite and/or for us for our 11 year old daughter who is on the autism spectrum (she has Smith-Magenis Syndrome). We has a stipend of respite hours for the year from DSHS and a monthly stipend of personal care hours. Personal care hours would be an hour every school day watching our daughter, helping her get ready, etc. Respite time will be chunks of time that resembles regular babysitting, both in home and 'out into the community'. However, our daughter is a very high energy girl that requires one-on-one interaction and active attention and supervision. While this isn't going to be a full-time (or even part-time) job, it's a good chance to get a little extra money while helping out a family in crisis. We're happy to split up hours among several people is need be.

Requirements:
* Provide your own transportation as much as possible
* Be comfortable in an 'alternative lifestyle household' - i.e. pagan, poly, queer
* Compassionate and non-judgemental a family in crisis with many of the adults dealing with chronic medical problems
* Ability to function in chaotic environments
* Comfortable with a sweet child who unfortunately has self-control issues, developmental delays
* Physically capable of dealing with a child that can get out of control
* Be willing to work as a contractor for a respite agency

Feel free to message me if you have questions. If you are not interested, but know someone who might be, please forward this information to them.
