The study, the largest ever on civic engagement in America, found that virtually all measures of civic health are lower in more diverse settings
And this from a self-admitted liberal researcher, too.
So what the summary of the study seems to say is that people in more diverse communities are less likely to contribute to any part of the community, even a part that consists of people in your same subgroup. Essentially, the less people you are around who are like you, the less likely you are to put out effort to connect to anyone, even if they are like you.
