Sinnish Poetry
Jan. 28th, 2003 08:15 amHere is the poem I wrote a few posts back in Sinnish:
Sinnish:
rat tamel ote Simara ko uga ode miazara
rat xasi otazo ko deam ozelam
rat xadu ota yuZis ko kas ota aturas
Xayud kazu Zu riyader alura
okar@bikat ukawam ko maZdat uzam
sorat ukura ko bayat uguam
shaladalar urimoze ko saZdar umotab
Xayud kazu Zu riyader alura
we soral otilat
guz zotumita oteyam
baZ umotab yuS wiras oriza
Xayud kazu Zu riyader alura
English:
By walls of water and wrath of wood,
By sacred flame and silicon web,
By lover's kiss and shadow's solace,
You don't stand a chance against my prayer.
I am a fiber optic shaman, a priest of moans.
I am a forger of words and a shaper of dreams.
I am chosen of shaladal and voice of the Rapture.
You don't stand a chance against my prayer.
Your words are insufficient.
And your kung fu is weak.
What I tell you three times is true.
You don't stand a chance against my prayer.
Notes:
* There is no 'I am' construction in Sinnish. Instead, you convert the noun to a verb or use a slightly different contruction. "I am a forger of words" is trnaslated as "I forge words". "I am chosen" is "I chosen".
* 'chosen' is actually 'to choose' with the 'that which is' prefix 'ri-'
* "You don't stand a chance against" is translated as "You don't hope during opposing"
* 'fiber optic' is translated to 'light wire'
* 'kung fu' is translated as 'fight skill'
