Here we go, my first real try. This is written in the formal style, using the formal word order, so it's a little backwards in some ways.

The Tower of Babel

Genesis 11:1-9

Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."	ka diya dim rim ix uSosa yal Sibar ko met tala ode eyowar yu Xotetis yalar rim sax utabu yal sekor rokum dozera rowoS Zidtaba.
But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the men were building.	ro dim olodu sekor ko dozer rotabu as sirataya oyeSa oZoZad.
The LORD said, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.	oZo diya ix zada ose sirat otebi ose xasara ozus or ilal- ka rat ilal Xosoz Xike subal ilalas.
Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."	dim Xopum ilal rid sax uyad yal ko sax umegum xasar diya.
So the LORD scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city.	ka yur deda met eyowa otetis ad oZo ilalar ko otabu od ilal sekor.
That is why it was called Babel -- because there the LORD confused the language of the whole world. From there the LORD scattered them over the face of the whole earth.	ka rat 'yas oduku il baZal taxar- go gora deda otegum ad oZo xosar ote eyowara. yur deda met tala ode eyowar otetis ad oZo ilalar.
