Dec. 30th, 2003 02:00 pmYESYESYESYESYESYESYES! They brought back Czar Vargo!!!
Czar Vargo is my favorite Son of Ether from Mage:the Ascension. He is the first Son of Ether Tradition book. He apparently tried to take over the world at the turn of the 20th Century "for it's own good." Sort of the "I must rule because the nations of the world are inept" bit. There was a massive battle involving the Czar's Zepplins and lightning machines where the Technocracy rolled out steam-powered mecha and all sorts of secret supertechnologies. The Paradox backlash was such that those technologies were written out of existence. Eventually they fought back Czar Vargo and he retreated his Zeppelins into the clouds, never to be seen again. Apparently, the Paradox spirit Wrinkle apeared and erased the Czar out of most of existance. No one but just a few 'kooks' and Mages remember Czar Vargo, though.
He's one of my favorite characters in the World of Darkness. I used him in the big Gehenna campaign I ran at Grinnell. He is so cool.
Okay, done hopelessly fanboy-ing. Well, for now.
