Reichian theories aside, when someone comes out and claims that something has "no evolutionary advantage" it really just makes me think that someone is far too impressed with their own understanding of the theory.
I did hear this line of thought put to amusing use recently, however, with the similiar statement that homosexuality could not be explained by any darwinian model. Homosex, therefore, is proof of intelligent design.
