So, it starts at 5:30a, when Miri wakes up and wakes both Eleri and I with fists and kicks. She's cranky and hyper out of the gate, and a bit of a pill until I start getting ready for work at 6a.

I leave at 6:30a and get to work at 7a. Work is pretty normal. About 8:30a my boss asks me how things are doing and apparently a sigh a lot before I say 'fine'. So she asks me why I don't seem fine. I explain Miri has been a bit fussy for a few days, after several days of being really good.

Around 8:30a or so, I call Eleri, and things have been going badly at home. Miri is alternation between being quiet and out of control.

Until about 11a, I get regular reports of Miri causing problems. At about 11a, after a panicked IM and phone call that was mostly Miri screaming like the Devil himself, I send an email out to my team saying I am leaving (and a few more detail to my boss explaining why). Miri's thrown stuff everywhere (not that we needed any help making the place dirtier) and has clawed at Eleri and pulls some furniture over on top of her.

And thus the search for placement options begins anew.

After a scramble, several calls and lots of tears, this is where we are at:
* Miri's neurodevelopmental psychology at Children's has prescribed a fast-acting sedative to give Miri when she gets out of control (he was very surprised that no one had done that before)
* We are looking into some summer placement for Miri around here or in Oregon
* Eleri found a school/group home that specializes in kids with special needs and behavioral issues. Their program averages at a year and a half. Of course, it's at Harvard. Yeah, near Boston. And the other tricky part is it is a school, so it has to be authorized by the local school system (and that is where the funding might have to come from). But we have decided that we have to pursue that option.

After I started this, Miri wanted to go lay down at 6pm. I put her to bed and layed down with her and we were both out until just now (after 2am). So back to sleep for me. Yay exhaustion!

i think you have other friends out here, and my apartment is very small, but if you need to travel to boston for any reason we can give you a place to sleep.

I am sorry for the long day sweetie. Carissa was diagnosed with Intermittent Explosive Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder when she was very young. They put her on lithium when she was three. She use to give her older brother, Justin, black eyes and fat lips. When she wasn't being terribly destructive and mean she was sitting on the couch humming to herself. We had to elicit the help of crisis intervention facilities through mental health.

Anyway my point is I have a small idea what you must be going through and I sympathize. I wish there was more I could by way of offering support. As it is, I will try to send your family as much positive energy as I can.

*hugs*

If any/all of you need to come to Boston, my couch, bed and any other neccessaries are yours. Also, let me know if you need a man on the ground, I can probably do some poking about while I'm finding work.
