Ran home at 1pm because Miri was having massive screaming meltdowns again. It's not even a week until school starts - couldn't she have waited to loose it just a few days?

Anyway, about school, at around 3pm, Eleri mentios that we should get Miri out of the house to try to calm her down. And, since her new school is really close and we haven't heard from them at all about the new Autism program Miri is being put in, she suggests we swing by the new school and see if there is anyone there to talk to. So we get manage to find the school and there are parents and kids all over the place (and a distinct lack of parking spaces - the school is sort of tucked into a residential neighborhood and have just enough parking for the faculty, it looks like) so we drive around a few times, find a place to park a few blocks away and hoof it on over.

Turns out it's Orientation Day at the school - come in meet yer new teachers, find your classroom, etc. No, we hadn't been told about it at all - probably because Miri wasn't going to be going to this particular school until a week or two ago. We were just driving by to see the place at just the right time. So we got to see Miri's new classroom, meet her teacher and the 3 teacher's aids (though we were told there are usually up to 6 people watching the kids). She'll be in a class of 10 kids with autism, grades K-3. She'll be there a full day and will have a hot lunch there. It seems like it'll be a very good environment for her. We have to get a ton of paperwork filled out for the medication Miri needs to take at 3pm though, and Eleri is going to confirm the details for the bus. But otherwise, we are ready for Mousie school. Now we just have to survive until Tuesday.
