In the Holy Shit department...

So today I get out of the car from picking up some things from the store. I get a little card from Anne (netmouse) and Bill (murphyw)...

So I open it up and stop on my way up the stairs to by apartment. You see, it's a card. And inside is a check for a large sum, with a note that it's not to be spent on pratical things, but instead on stuff for Eleri's birthday. (Oh, and that the numbers on the check added up to 5.) So I stared at it for a while and then hustled inside to call Anne about it. I haven't gotten ahold of her yet.

But I wanted to post here to let everyone know how much I appreciate this and what a nice thing that Anne and Bill have done for us. In fact, I doubt I could ever express it properly.

I've had a few windfalls lately from people, and people helping out with Miri's bills and such - my late friend Art's insurance, the constant support from Ryan and Jenn and from El's parents, the money from Kit and Hlynna, loans from gundo, and now this.

I don't know what I did to deserve such enormous generosity in my life. I hope someday that can pay some fraction of it back or forward.

hmm.. I though I said to use _some_ of it on Eleri's birthday... not _all_ to be spent on practical things.. bet you've been worrying about practical things too much to have read it the way you did. But then we knew that.

Don't worry - we are doing both :) We are paying off some bills and going to be getting little things (both practical and fanciful) which we wanted but were just out of our petty cash range. We are getting button parts so we can make buttons and can sell them at OryCon.

And I took Eleri out to a really nice brunch on Sunday for her birthday :)
