I may be just a bit depressed today, but it's stuff like this that really remind me that the world can't be a nice place, even in the little details.

I've ranted before. But that sort of thing just reminds me that being a jerk and taking cheap shots is funny for most of the world. And that taking a sadistic joy in putting down others is still an international pasttime.

*sigh* And people wonder why the world is such a crappy place. It's no genocide or terrorist suicide bombing, obviously. But every little bit makes the world just a little harder for people, whether they deserve it or not.

On the other hand, I was reading a journal entry the other day about someone helping a stranger pick up hundreds of pages of music that had gotten blown away due to absent-mindedness and the wind. I'd link to it but I forget who on my friends list it was. My friends list is big. ;-D

Justin is just an asshole. He's the same way about furries and whatnot. It's the typical White Wolf "high school clique" mentality -- he thinks he's way cooler than he actually is becaue of his connection to Vampire et al and his exposure to "loser" gamers.

In my experience, this isn't as prevalant as you think. It's more prevalant on the Internet. I think it has something to do with the sort of person likely to act that way in the first place, and how likely they are to be attracted a medium like an the Internet where they can poison a lot of people for cheap. They'd be on TV if they could, but the Internet will have to do.
