Positive Energy Request
Sep. 20th, 2004 11:36 amThe story so far...
I got an email, out of the blue last week. It was from a former coworker, and it was a CC to someone at Adobe software (whom I used to work with at my old job - my company work with Adobe). It said "I know about the position that just opened up, and if you don't seriously consider Scott for it, you are insane." I didn't ask for the letter at all.
Then I got a referral to the job from one of the people inside Adobe. And then she asked I email my resume to one of the managers.
On Thursday, during lunch, I finally emailed in my resume. By 3pm, I got a call from the HR Dept at Adobe. They want me to do an interview this week (day still to be determined as they synch up schedules).
The baseline price is nearly double what I make now. It would involve moving to Seattle, however. But, we did a little research and Seattle has significantly better services for Miri than what we have here. Our Disability case manager said we'd have all sorts of options up there, many more than we have here.
Thjis would be such a good job for me. I am an expert on one of the programs I'd be working with and supporting. Adobe is a damn nice company to work for. And it's in a number of areas I am really interested in.
So, I am requesting good thoughts, prayers, energy and whatever. I really want this job. And I think it would make ALL sorts of things better for me, Eleri and Miri.
