The universe shifts slightly...
Jan. 15th, 2005 10:59 pmSo, now that
eleri is up here, we are getting settled, picking up a bunch of storage stuff, foodstuffs, etc. We got a wireless router and found a little Little Tykes TV for Miri really cheap. So we are well-stocked, Miri has a really nice room, we have a nice network. Still a lot to do in terms of unpacking.
The real thing, however, is the shoes. We find a nice little shoe store here that specializes in wide shoes. They put me on a computerized pad that read where the pressure was going on my feet and where the arch is such. This confirmed what I knew - my feet are really messed up. My shoe size is 11, but my arch is where it should be for a size 13. So they gave me a pair of shoes with some insoles based off of the readings and I was blown away. Even before I stood up, I could feel it readjusting my feet. And walking in them - I had aches in parts of my foot I didn't know I had.
So we decided to get the nice shoes and the insoles. I've been buying $10 Wal-Mart shoes for the last five years and figured I needed good ones. But these shoes, with the insoles, were REALLY spendy. So I could only get one pair right now. Yup, that means my shoes will match for a while - next month I'll get a white pair so I can get back to mismatching shoes. However, in the meantime, I got white laces so I can have mismatching laces. At least that way there wil be SOME balance in the universe.
