A Geeky interlude...RFC

I had some thoughts that I was looking for comments on. Not sure exactly what sort of comments I am looking for, just, brainstorming or such...

So Eleri and I got a web domain hosted at bluehost.com for the mystembassy.net (a Myst-related fan organization). I got my crappy (yet functional) little PHP script up there. And I was looking around at the tools on the site and it turns out there are all sorts of Open Source scripts on there. All sorts of web Content Management Systems on there. Now, I don't know much about such things, but they look like they are really powerful, like a super-Wiki. So my mind started churning... what could I do with all of these tools now at my disposal....

For the Myst Embassy, I have some ideas. But I also had some personal ideas. Like a sort of centralized web-accessable organization site for me (and some others). I have a wiki at sinnish.org for my language stuff, and I was thinking Eleri and I could use something like that to keep track of appointments, ideas, projects, etc. One of these content management systems could be a really powerful tool for that. It could even be a powerful tool for a distributed poly tribe (or any integrated organization). Shared schedules of various levels, collaboration spaces, blogs, personal web spaces, etc.

You could do something similar as a sort of RPG/Interactive literature development and role-playing space...

So, a lot COULD be done... anyone else have ideas like that? I mean, I have access to several CMS setups (www.drupal.com,typo3.com) as well as blog sites, calendar programs, RSS feeds, wikis, etc. Share some creative ideas with me.

I've had ideas vaguely connected to this sort of thing, but I'm far too ignorant to even entirely understand all of what you're talking about.
